We migrated OneSkin from Nyla to Shopify 2.0, aligning the site's premium design with their product quality, improving performance for faster speed, and increasing retention through subscriptions.

This migration allowed OneSkin greater flexibility in managing content while enhancing the overall user experience and design to align with the brand’s premium products. In addition to the design improvements, we focused on optimizing the website’s performance, ensuring better conversion rates and faster site speed.
The primary goal of the new site was to dive into OneSkin’s science-backed products and educate customers on their efficacy. The content and storytelling presented complex science in an accessible way, highlighting how the products target skin aging. Throughout the site, we built credibility by sharing OneSkin’s founders’ story, claims, results, a glossary of terms, and social proof through customer videos, aiming to establish trust and explain the science simply.
It took a few touch-points for customers to convert on the old site, so we revamped the product detail page to be a one-stop shop for storytelling and commerce. Now, customers can easily learn about the product, find suggested bundles for their skincare routine, see how to use it, and explore subscription options—all in one place. Because OneSkin's credibility comes from their clinical trials and real results, we made sure to highlight those in easy-to-digest visuals, backed by real customer stories to build trust.
To enhance customer retention and lifetime value, we promoted skincare routines through bundled products and subscriptions, emphasizing long-term benefits. We highlighted product advantages and guided users in building daily skincare habits with layered routines. To boost conversion and AOV, we introduced a 'Quick Add' feature, enabling customers to easily subscribe or add products to their cart from any page on the site.
Through a content-rich blog, Barrel helped OneSkin boost SEO by targeting high-ranking search terms, driving organic traffic. To increase conversions, we made the blog posts shoppable by embedding product links, enabling customers to easily purchase directly from the content. The blogs covered topics like the science behind the products, building skincare routines, and reversing signs of aging.
