Rentacrate collaborated with Barrel with the goal to revamp their digital identity design system and design a website with focus on reimagining how the moving industry is viewed. Since moving is often seen as a risky undertaking, Rentacrate is committed to making moving a simpler, safer, and trusted process for their customers.
The moving process today constantly requires customers to wait for a quote based on their needs, but by using Rentacrate’s new ‘Build Your Bundle’ section, customers can receive instant, transparent pricing and checkout online with a few simple clicks. The section lets customers toggle between Home and Business, where standard moving products and needs are offered depending on the size of your move.
The moving company’s goal for its new design concept was to emphasize that although the process of moving hasn’t changed much since the 1960s, moving mistakes should be a thing of the past. The new design plays on ads from the 60s and 70s and introduces new, bold colors into their palate.
As part of the new brand guidelines, Barrel also provided photography and video art direction to demonstrate how Rentacrate is disrupting the moving experience with equipment and an online experience fit for the 21st Century. The ecommerce visual product and overall direction captures a balance of vintage, retro, and modern sophisticated nostalgia.
Rentacrate’s new branding will be rolled out across all channels and extended for use in their transactional emails to keep customers updated across every touchpoint of their move.
